A few of my fav Ruth statistical nuggets:

In 1919, Ruth hit nine home runs in Fenway Park (then with a lot less friendly dimensions), which was three times more than opposing teams hit in Fenway combined, all season.

In 1920, Ruth hit 54 home runs, no American League team (sans Yankees, obviously) topped 50 home runs.

Ruth set the MLB record for home runs on each of his final 576 home runs, having broken the previous record in his third full season in the outfield.

The man defies common sense.
