I do find it very interesting that in baseball the best analytics available are kind of hurting the aesthetic pleasure of the sport (no baserunning, barely any balls in play) whereas in basketball they are helping the aesthetic (wide open play, tons of threes). Have to wonder if that will only lead to more of a gap in the popularity of the two sports with the younger generation.
