I’m probably way overthinking this, but I couldn’t help but notice how often the writers said words like “fraternity” and “brothers” when referencing their writing corps. I kind of feel like if it wasn’t Anne Gordon, a woman in this “man’s world,” but rather a man who came to kick McLane out, McLane and his piers wouldn’t have taken such umbrage. Like I said, Im probably overthinking it, but I couldn’t shake that feeling this whole article.
